4. Use the ideas written in the cards to tell the summary of the poem to the class:

lying on the ground, invisible, a child, no fear, lace of leaves, kisses like Mother, gentle friends, whisper pretty things, careful wings, a kind big smile, looking through the trees.

Ans: The poet lies on the ground under a tree and looks at the sky through the lace of leaves. The sky smiles kindly like a big gentle friend. The sunshine flickers through the leaves and kisses the poet’s face gently, like a mother’s loving kiss. The wind whispers pretty things softly, and though it cannot be seen, the poet feels its careful wings. These gentle, invisible friends are always near a child, so the child should never feel fear.

5. Write what the word ‘friend’ means to you: Friend:

Ans: Friend: A friend is someone who is kind, caring, and always there to support and comfort you.

Now, write who your friends are:

Ans: My friends are people who understand me, share my joys and sorrows, and make life happier.

6. (a) Read the following lines from the poem:

“The Sky is like a kind big smile Bent sweetly over me.”

Here, the poet uses a literary device called ‘simile’ where the word ‘like’ is used to compare “The Sky’ with ‘the smile’.

Find the other simile in the poem and write it down:

Ans: “The sunshine kisses my face like a mother’s love.”
